September is coming in HOT!

Image
Happy September Bulldog Families,  With high temperatures this week, here are some things we're doing at Buljan to address the heat wave. When temperatures are above 100 degrees PE classes will be inside completing nutrition lessons. During both lunches we will have cooling stations, classes will be open as well as other inside option will be shared with students - the library, movie in the multi and more. With high temperatures, we will encourage students that are outside to drink water and get breaks in the shade. Please remind your child to bring a reusable water bottle and dress appropriately for the heat. When the temperature is 100 degrees at the time of any activity that is outside (PE and Lunch), we will bring students inside. We will be monitoring this closely. Last week we had our first house rallies. Students played games and practiced their house chants. The green house won our hula hoop challenge! The Water Bowl

Good Afternoon Buljan!   The beginning of the Bulldog school year is off to a wonderful start.  Our students have been getting settled in their classes, interacting with their teachers and classmates, learning about what it means to be a Bulldog, and making new friends through our advisory classes and “Bulldog Strong Start” initiative.     In addition to fostering a strong classroom and campus community, our amazing staff have also begun guiding students into the year’s academic work. As an AVID Demonstration School, teachers and staff deliver challenging curriculum through numerous daily opportunities to write, inquire, collaborate, organize, and read! In order to best understand teachers’ policies and expectations when it comes to work and grading, please sit with your child and log into Otus together, where our teachers have posted videos and slides going over their classroom policies, curriculum, grading information, and other need-to-knows for a successful ...

Welcome Back Bulldogs!

Welcome Back Bulldog Families! On behalf of the entire staff here at Buljan Middle School, we wish to thank everyone who attended our Back to School Night community event last night. It was a wonderful way to start the school year and bring our Buljan community together for a night of fun and positive engagement with one other. We enjoyed seeing so many families spending the evening together visiting classrooms, meeting teachers, and even just sitting together at a picnic table enjoying a cold Kona Ice on a hot night. Despite the heat, there were smiling faces all around.  We appreciate your partnership in your child’s education and taking the time to come learn a bit more about the amazing learning experiences they have every day here at school. Your feedback is valuable to us in helping plan future events. Please take a moment to complete this survey and share with us your thoughts: https://forms.gle/jtU2PhvTr1x1AYxx9 One quick reminder: orders for Spirit Wear close on Sunday. I...
