The Bulldog Water Bowl Hello Buljan Families, From the entire staff here at George Buljan Middle School, we wish your family a wonderful holiday season and an exciting New Year!  Our staff will be enjoying family and friends as they take a well deserved break.  We are all looking forward to some time to recharge so that we can continue to successfully serve our students, families, and community into the new year. When we welcome our students back in 2022, our staff will hit the ground running by reviewing site and classroom behavior expectations.  We expect our Bulldogs to Be Safe, Accountable, Respectful, and Kind (B.A.R.K.)  We are confident that our students will continue to meet the B.A.R.K. challenge into the new year. The Bulldog Water Bowl ~ Messages from your Principal Mr. White Hello Buljan Community, With the 1st trimester of the 2021/22 school year behind us, it is a great time to reflect on a successful fall.   iReady diagnostics: assessment results guided instruction and was used to create school wide goals. Building relationships: Staff and students were focused on the importance of building strong community in the classroom.   Teaching expected behaviors: Students were taught the behavior expectation of Being Safe, Accountable, Respectful, and Kind or B.A.R.K.! Social Emotional Learning: Second Step curriculum was used to foster a successful and supportive learning environment. Click HERE to listen.  Last week we had a successful Career Fair with 340 students completing the scavenger hunt through careers. Thank you to everyone that came to share their career with our students.  Here is a reminder about absences, in the event that your student is absent from school.  Attendance  1. Students are expected to be in school each day unless it is absolutely necessary that they be absent.  Students with excessive absences will be assigned a behavior contract, parent/guardian conference or referred to SARB.   2. When a student is absent, a parent/guardian or guardian should call the school (916) 771-1720 each day of the absence.  Please state the date, state and spell the student's name, your name, your relationship to the student, and the reason for absence.  If this is not pos...

Happy November Bulldog Families!  No school November 11th in honor of Veterans Day.  Upcoming Job Fair - Information & Leadership Sign Up RCSD will be hosting a Job Fair for multiple Classified positions available throughout the District on Tuesday, November 16, from 1 pm - 7 pm. If you know of any parents, friends, neighbors, etc., that may be interested, please share the details. Check out the RCSD webpage for more information, and feel free to share widely! RCSD Job Fair Information Page Wellness Corner  WarmLine is hosting a few virtual parent support classes and groups this month and next month. Here is the  link  for more info. Last week our amazing Drama Students, Web Leaders, and Student Government teams put on two amazing carnival nights. Many students had a great time with their peers in various games and the haunted house.

Hello Bulldog Families,  We enjoyed the rain these past two days and look forward to more this weekend. Thank you all for taking extra precautions during drop off while it is raining. We appreciate it!  Friday 10/29 is the last day of Trimester 1 . Friday 11/12/21 parents/Guardians will be emailed students report cards for Trimester 1 by approximately 4:30pm.    We're having a CARNIVAL! 6th grade activity night is Wednesday, October 27th from 5-7 pm and 7th and 8th grade Carnival is Thursday, October 28th from 5-7pm . Tickets will be for sale Monday and Tuesday during lunch AND at the door for $10. There will be lots of activities like, donuts on a string, What's in the box, and much more! Costumes optional! There will also be inflatables and a haunted house hosted by the drama class. There will be food for sale like Pizza, Popcorn, and Snowcones. This is a student only event.
