April Drill, School Policy and Preparing for High School Updates

Hello Bulldog Families,

This week we are going to practice our lockdown drill on Friday during 1st period. A lockdown is called when there is a threat or hazard inside the school campus. The language used is “lockdown, locks, lights, out of sight.” The action requires ensuring doors are locked, moving students and staff out of the line of sight from windows, turning off all lights, and remaining quiet.

We practice drills to help build muscle memory in the event of a true emergency, and we practice in order for our school to identify gaps and areas of improvement.

For more information about our safety procedures, please check out the safety information on our district website.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

Important Reminder: Policy on Student Sales Activities at Buljan Middle School

I am writing to remind all of our school's policy regarding the sale of items and exchange of money on campus by our students. Our goal is to maintain a focused and disruption-free learning environment for all students.

As outlined in our school policy, students are prohibited from selling any items or services on campus that are not part of official school-sponsored activities. This includes, but is not limited to, personal fundraising projects, the sale of goods like crafts or cologne, and services such as shoe cleaning or similar activities.

Allowing individual sales on campus can lead to disruptions during the school day and detract from the educational experience. Additionally, these activities can raise safety concerns and complicate the management of the school environment. We ask for your cooperation in ensuring that any fundraising or sales activities involving your children are aligned with school-sponsored events, which are designed to be safe and equitable for all participants.

We appreciate your understanding and support in upholding these standards, which are in place to ensure that all students have a safe and productive learning environment. If your child is interested in organizing a fundraiser or selling items to support a cause, please encourage them to speak with a school administrator to explore appropriate opportunities to do so within the guidelines of our school policies.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued partnership in providing a positive educational experience at Buljan Middle School.

Warm regards,

Greg White

Principal, Buljan Middle School
