 Attendance Awareness: The Key to Student Success!

We're excited to share with you informative infographics that break down the various attendance notices you might receive from our school and/or district and the various terms used in them. No more deciphering hieroglyphics on these notices!


Understanding terms like "Truancy," "Unexcused Absences," and "SART" can make your life a whole lot easier. These infographics are your go-to guides, and the notices help you stay informed and on top of your child's school attendance.


But here's the key takeaway: Regular school attendance is essential for your child's academic success. Consistent attendance helps them build crucial skills and knowledge, so they can reach their full potential.

Parent Night on Student Success: As partners in your child's education, we are excited to invite you to our upcoming Parent Night, focused on improving student academic achievement. This event aims to strengthen the partnership between home and school, and provide parents/guardians with practical tools to support their student's academic growth.


Event Details:


Date: November 30th, 2023

Time: 5:30-6:30 pm

Location: Buljan Middle School Library

Agenda:


  • Welcome and Introduction

  • Accountability (Learn to navigate Otus and student planners)

  • Time management

  • Setting up for success

  • Organization

  • Test-taking skills

  • Gaining your student’s buy-in

  • What to do when your student is absent


While an RSVP is not required, please consider RSVPing using this link to help us make the necessary arrangements for the event. 



RCSD is committed to providing quality education to its students. In an effort to achieve this goal, school staff or parents/guardians may refer students for counseling, or students may request counseling. The aim of the school counseling services is to help students have more effective education and socialization within the school community. Possible counseling topics are coping with changes, transition, self esteem, friendship and relationship issues, study skills, stress management, fears or worries, academic progress, conflict resolution, social skills, adjustment to school or culture, etc. These services are available at no cost. RCSD school counselors offer short‐term individual counseling to students, as well as small group counseling.

Happy New Year Buljan Families,  It was so great to have our students back on campus with their smiling faces, greeting friends and ready to make 2024 a successful year! We invite you to join Buljan’s Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) Team. Your input is vital in promoting positive behavior, creating a safe environment, and implementing effective strategies. Meeting monthly on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30, we discuss and collaborate on PBIS initiatives. Your perspective as a parent is invaluable, contributing to the success of our program.
