October 22 Blog Update
We had a great week at Buljan. We have many clubs for students to join during lunch. Here is a picture of our Weight Lifting club that students can join during lunch. Mr. White our teacher has students come in to teach them about proper form and technique.
This week we're highlighting our Computer Science class and Project Lead the Way class, which are two electives we offer. Computer Science students are creating skate board parks on the computers. Project Lead the Way is on the VR headsets as they navigate how to move through the virtual world.Join Us for the Halloween "Fright Night" Dance!
Mark your calendars! Our 7th and 8th graders are invited to the Halloween "Fright Night" Dance on Friday, October 27th, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Quick Details:
Theme: Halloween costumes are encouraged! Face paint is welcome, but please no face masks or fake weapons.
Activities: From dancing to dodgeball and video games, there's something for everyone. Don't miss the 'Best Dressed' competition for a chance to win exciting prizes!
Food: The Haunted Dog House will serve pizza and snacks, and Kona Ice will be selling snow cones. Plus, 20% of Kona Ice proceeds go back to the school.
Tickets: $8 in advance, $10 on the day, also available online until Thursday.

✨Counseling & Wellness Corner✨
Creating an Inclusive & Respectful Campus Classroom Lessons: School counselors will be visiting 6th grade social studies classrooms November 6-9th to deliver a classroom lesson on creating an inclusive and respectful campus. The lesson aims to help students develop a sense of acceptance, respect, support and inclusion for self and others in the school environment and create positive, respectful and supportive relationships with students who are similar to and different from them. The lesson will address empathy, using inclusive language on campus, and what to do if mistakes are made. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s participation in this lesson or to opt your student out of this lesson please contact the School Counseling team at Buljan.
Transition to High School Classroom Lessons: Our 8th grade school counselor will be visiting social studies classrooms the week of October 23rd to present the first of three scheduled Transition to High School lessons. This first lesson will address work completion and the high school grading system. Students will also have the opportunity to hear from Roseville High School AVID students. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s participation in this lesson or to opt your student out of this lesson please contact the School Counseling team at Buljan. Red Ribbon Week & Vaping Prevention Classroom Lessons: In honor of Red Ribbon Week, the Wellness team will be doing classroom presentations over the last two weeks of October on the topic of Tobacco and E-Cigarettes (vapes). Our focus will be on educating students about the dangers these products pose and how they can affect the mind and body. Volunteers Needed for Annual Career Fair: Buljan’s Annual Career Fair is back and scheduled for Thursday, November 9th! We are looking for parents, community members, and local businesses that want to volunteer their time, host a booth at the career fair, and educate our students about their careers. RCSD is committed to providing quality education to its students. In an effort to achieve this goal, school staff or parents/guardians may refer students for counseling, or students may request counseling. The aim of the school counseling services is to help students have more effective education and socialization within the school community. Possible counseling topics are coping with changes, transition, self esteem, friendship and relationship issues, study skills, stress management, fears or worries, academic progress, conflict resolution, social skills, adjustment to school or culture, etc. These services are available at no cost. RCSD school counselors offer short‐term individual counseling to students, as well as small group counseling.
