Happy September - Buljan Blog
4 Reasons to Get Behind a Fundraiser the Buljan Student Government Coffee Fundraiser!
Dear Buljan Parents and Guardians,
We're excited to announce that next week we're kicking off a fundraiser unlike any you've ever seen before! This is not just another fundraiser; it's a one-of-a-kind opportunity that perfectly captures the essence of community, innovation, and entrepreneurial (”Shark Tank”) Spirit of Buljan Middle School. Here's why:
No Middleman - Purely Buljan Staff and Student Government Led
Our very own Buljan Staff & "Student Government" class is running this fundraiser from start to finish. That's right, the teachers and students are taking charge! From planning, advertising, and delivery, our students are gaining real-world experience in business operations and sales!
Local Business - Mast Coffee, Sacramento, CA
What are we fundraising with, you ask? Coffee! And not just any coffee, but premium brew from Mast Coffee, a local roaster in Sacramento, CA. By sourcing our fundraiser products from a local business, we're reinforcing our commitment to our community and its local economies.
Buljan Pride - Meet Stephen Mentze, Buljan Alumni and Co-Owner of Mast Coffee
It just keeps getting better! The co-owner of Mast Coffee, Stephen Mentze, graduated from Buljan in 2003. He's a living example of how the seeds of success are sown right here at Buljan Middle School.
Unparalleled Learning Experience for All Students
With this one-of-a-kind fundraiser, we're not just raising funds; we're enriching our students' educational journey by teaching them valuable life skills in communication, finance, teamwork, and community engagement.
How Does It Work?
Next Friday (September 8) students will be sent home with Fundraising Envelopes that will have all key details and dates.
How Can You Help?
Order Coffee: Seriously, who doesn't love a good cup of coffee?
Spread the Word: Tell your family, friends, and neighbors. → **Share: Buljan Coffee Fundraiser**
Warm Regards,
Buljan Student Government
P.S. Keep an eye out for the order forms coming home with your children next week. Let's make this fundraiser a resounding success!
Counseling & Wellness Corner:
Suicide Prevention Classroom Lessons: Please view the Suicide Prevention Parent Letter that was emailed out earlier this week. The letter contains detailed information about the Signs of Suicide suicide prevention curriculum school counselors will be delivering to science classes starting the week of September 11th.
Minute Meetings: Minute meetings finished this week! Last week, and through the end of this week, the Buljan counseling team visited social studies classrooms. During this time, they held brief, one-minute introduction meetings with each student. These face-to-face meetings are designed to ensure that every student has a chance to establish a connection with their counselor, providing them with the knowledge of who they can turn to for support throughout the academic year.
Should you have any inquiries regarding these brief meetings, please don't hesitate to reach out to the appropriate school counselor for your student.
September is Attendance Awareness month! Be on the lookout for weekly attendance facts and information. For this week, check out the flyer below for Buljan’s attendance hotline/email.
If you and/or your student is experiencing difficulties other than illness that is impacting your student’s attendance, please contact one of our school counselors or our community liaison for additional support
School Counseling Advisory Council: Interested in joining the School Counseling Advisory Council? It is a diverse group of parents, staff, teachers, and community members who collaborate and provide feedback to enhance our school counseling program.
Reminder! Our Counseling & Wellness Team Back to School Letter is now available. Discover who we are, the services we offer, and how to reach us, all in one place.
